Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what data the Citewren Chrome extension, its server, and this website handle, and why. Citewren is operated by Rasa Petkevičiūtė, Kaunas, Lithuania ("we", "us"), the data controller. Contact: aioseo.support@gmail.com.
Summary
- SEO and AI readiness checks run entirely in your browser.
- The extension reads a page only after you click it on that page.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data to train AI models.
- Payments are handled by Polar; we never see your card details.
1. Data the extension processes on your device
When you click the extension on a page, it reads that page's HTML, headings, links, images, meta tags and structured data, and requests that site's public files such as robots.txt and llms.txt. On Google results pages it reads the visible results and AI Overview. This analysis happens locally and the page content is not sent to us.
Settings, tracked domains and your license key are stored in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. You can delete them by removing the extension.
2. Data sent to our server
| What | When | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| License key | When you activate a paid plan, and about once a day after that | To check your subscription with Polar | We keep only a one-way hash of the key with the result, for up to 1 hour |
| Page text and URL | Only when you start an AI-powered feature (paid plans) | To produce the result you asked for | Not stored after the response, except a short-lived cache keyed by a hash of the content, so the same request is not processed twice |
| Tracked prompts and brand names | When you use the prompt tracker (paid plans) | To run the prompts on AI engines and show you the results | Until you delete them or your subscription ends |
Before page text is sent, the extension strips form fields and their values. Please do not use AI features on pages that contain personal or confidential information.
3. Processors we use
- Polar (polar.sh), merchant of record: checkout, payments, invoices, tax, license keys. Polar processes your name, email, billing address and payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: hosts our server and this website. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver and protect the service.
- AI model providers: when you use an AI-powered feature, the text needed for that request is sent to the large language model provider we use. We use API terms under which providers do not train on the data, and we will name the provider here before AI-powered features launch.
4. This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs.
5. Legal bases
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you (providing the extension and your plan), and on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working.
6. Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data, or object to its processing, by emailing aioseo.support@gmail.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Chrome Web Store limited use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's features you use, and is not transferred, sold or used for advertising or creditworthiness.
8. Children
Citewren is not directed at children under 16.
9. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be announced in the extension or by email to paying customers.
